Rehabilitation Technologist
Job Description:
The Rehabilitation Technologist provides computer-based assistive technology services on-site, at schools, Mains, and workplaces, developing cost-effective solutions to help people with disabilities achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:

Perform evaluations as to the best means of computer access with children, adults, parents and professionals, using a wide range of assistive technology.

Demonstrate and test assistive equipment.

Provide information and referral services.

Develop and provide training to groups.
-
Do comparative pricing and assist in purchasing equipment.

Provide training to consumers on specific pieces of assistive technology.

Write reports on service delivery, including recommendations, bids, and progress reports.

Assist in maintaining the Center’s software and hardware collection.

Keep up-to-date on new assistive technology and other developments in the field of disability.
Qualifications
The Rehabilitation Technologist position requires:

An extensive knowledge of assistive technology, computer systems and appropriate software.

The ability to lift, transport, and set up computer systems.
-
Experience working with people with disabilities.

The ability to work well with a diverse range of people.
-
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
-
Strong interpersonal & communication skills - both oral & written.

The ability to travel to multiple work sites in your own vehicle.

Experience working with the California Department of Rehabilitation is a plus.

BA/BS degree in a relevant field or licensure as an O.T., P.T., S.L.P.,and/or a Certificate in Assistive technology from an accredited university or college.
Salary
We are currently seeking people to work on a consultancy basis. The position suits someone who has recently retired, someone who is interested in developing their own consultancy practice or someone who wants to supplement their income by working part time. We offer attractive remuneration.
