Many Options for Everyone
CforAT provides services to adults who are not clients of the Department of Rehabilitation.
For example, when people who are employed need computer accommodations to continue working, we provide Workplace Accommodations.
We work with employers to assess employees with disabilities and recommend appropriate computer-based accommodations. We are particularly skilled at assisting employees who have recently acquired a disability by determining appropriate job accommodations that enable the person to remain on the job.
We also offer AT Explorations for adults. An Exploration is more in depth than an Open Resource appointment (see below) but less comprehensive than a full assessment. During the Exploration, a Computer Access Specialist will work with you to explore various assistive technology solutions, and find a solution that works for you. At the end, a short report is developed, listing the assistive technolkogies tried and giving resources for purchasing various solutions. An AT Exploration costs $100, though no one is turned away for lack of funds. You can download a copy of our AT Exploration Form from our Forms and Paperwork Page.
People who are on fixed incomes who want to get in home assistive technology support may beeligible for our Up and Running Program. More information about this program can be found on our Seniors page.
And everyone is welcome to attend our free Open Resource events, where you can have a half-hour appointment with a Computer Access Specialist and learn more about how computer adaptations may make using a computer easier for you.
